Nicola Zingaretti and Matteo Orfini on fair remuneration and live music protection: two institutional meetings at Eufonica 2026

Home News Nicola Zingaretti and Matteo Orfini on fair remuneration and live music protection: two institutional meetings at Eufonica 2026

The upcoming edition of Eufonica – The Music and Its Professions Trade Show, scheduled at BolognaFiere from May 15 to 17, 2026, will also be a moment to reflect on the present and future of music: on the cultural policies that shape it and on the working conditions of those who create, produce and bring it to the stage.

In this context, Friday, May 15 will feature two meetings dedicated to artists’ rights and support for live music, offering opportunities for dialogue between institutional representatives and industry professionals to share experiences, perspectives and possible future directions for the entire music ecosystem.

Nicola Zingaretti: Artists’ remuneration on digital platforms (2:30 PM)

The first meeting, promoted by ITSRIGHT, AUDIOCOOP and Eufonica by BolognaFiere, will feature MEP Nicola Zingaretti and will focus on fair compensation for artists on streaming platforms. The discussion will address one of the most relevant issues in today’s music economy: the distribution of value generated by digital platforms and the regulatory perspectives needed to ensure fairer remuneration for artists and rights holders.

Matteo Orfini: Support for live clubs (4:00 PM)

At 4:00 PM, a second meeting will take place with Matteo Orfini, Member of Parliament, actively involved in legislative initiatives aimed at protecting and recognizing the cultural and social role of live clubs, associations and venues dedicated to live music. The discussion will explore topics such as the recognition of live clubs as cultural hubs, support for associative activities and the protection of workers in a sector characterized by strong instability. Participants will include Natalino Mingrone (President, ATER), Massimo Maisto (President, Arci Emilia-Romagna), Lele Roveri (Estragon), Roberta Giallo (singer-songwriter), Pierluigi Pettenati (Slow Music), Davide Dose (Officina Pasolini and MAC), Luca Fornari (Stage & Indies Coordination) and Roberto Meglioli (P.E.R. – Promoter Emilia-Romagna). The session will be introduced by Giordano Sangiorgi (MEI). Institutional greetings will be delivered by Elena Pasoli, Director of the Culture Business Unit at BolognaFiere, and Barbara Laurini, Exhibition Manager of Eufonica.
