Music education, inclusion and new teaching practices at the core of Eufonica 2026
From May 15 to 17 at BolognaFiere, Eufonica – the Exhibition of Music and its Professions – will dedicate a major section to music education, now a key area in rethinking contemporary educational models.
The programme brings together institutions, teachers, researchers and cultural operators, with a focus on innovative teaching methodologies, inclusion and cultural welfare.
A strategic partner of the section is INDIRE, which will curate the conference “Ensemble music as a transformative practice: inclusion, participation and wellbeing”, scheduled for Saturday, May 16. The initiative is part of a broader project that involved teachers from across Italy through a call for papers, collecting over 90 contributions.
Key events also include the conference by the National Committee for Practical Music Learning (MIM), dedicated to the 50th anniversary of SMIM, and workshops such as “The Playing Choir”, focused on experiential and creative approaches to music education.
The programme will also feature round tables and panels on inclusion, the right to music and new educational professions, including “Symphonies of Inclusion” (SIEM Bologna), as well as an international discussion on music, technology and creativity in educational contexts, in line with the UNESCO 2024 framework.
The programme concludes with a focus on cultural welfare, featuring a panel by the University of Bologna and celebrations for the 50th anniversary of ESTA Italy, including concerts, workshops and in-depth sessions.
